Events holds the conferences, trade shows, meetups and webinars your team goes to, with the people who will be there. Kenso matches each person to your target accounts, so you can plan to meet them there, and send everyone else to a campaign. Press G then A to open Accounts, then click the Events tab at the top.

Add an event

  1. On Events, click New event.
  2. Paste the event's page under Event link, such as a Luma, Eventbrite or Sched link or the event's own site, and click Fill from link. Ken fills in what the page says. You can also skip this and type the details yourself.
  3. Check the Name, Start date and End date.
  4. Pick a Format: In person, Virtual or Hybrid.
  5. Set Attending to Going or Not going, or leave it Not set.
  6. Add the City, Venue and Website URL. A virtual event doesn't need a city or venue.
  7. Pick a Timezone if you know it. It sets when date-based workflows run.
  8. Click Create event.

To change an event later, open it and click Edit in the event's menu.

Events Ken suggests

Every Monday morning, Ken looks for upcoming events your buyers go to, in person or online, and adds the best ones to your list as Suggested by Ken. Each suggestion shows a fit score out of 100 and names any of your target accounts that speak, sponsor or exhibit there.

  • Set Attending to Going or Not going to add a suggestion to your events.
  • Click Dismiss to hide it for good.
  • Use All, Going and Suggested above the list to switch what you see.

Nothing is added or sent until you pick a suggestion, and the search costs no credits. It runs as the workflow Find relevant events every week, which Ken set up for you. Open Workflows to change how far ahead it looks, pause it or delete it.

Add the people going

Open an event and click Add people. Pick a source on the left:

SourceWhat it takes
From a linkA speaker, sponsor, exhibitor or attendee page on the event's site.
Paste a listNames, titles, companies or emails from an email, a doc or a sheet. Up to 120,000 characters at a time.
Upload a fileA CSV, Excel, PDF, photo or screenshot. Up to 10 MB for a PDF or sheet, 3.75 MB for a photo.
One personA name, or just a company and its website.
Find with KenPeople at the event's companies, people from a prospectus, people who say they are going, and last year's lists.

For each source:

  1. Add the list, then pick a Role: Speaker, Exhibitor, Sponsor or Attendee. If the list gives its own roles, the role you pick applies to rows with none.
  2. Check the preview Ken shows.
  3. Add the people.

People that Find with Ken found at an exhibiting company, or on last year's list, are marked as likely, not confirmed.

How people match your accounts

Kenso matches each row to your accounts by the company's domain. When a row has only a company name, Kenso looks up the domain. The Account column shows the match, or No account. An account you add later matches on its own, with no new import.

Use the role filter and Only target accounts above the list to narrow it down. To take a person off the list, click the three dots on their row and click Remove.

Plan Event touches

An Event touch is a to-do in a target account's plan: meet these people at the event. It names the event, its dates and place, and up to five people from that account, then says "Book a meeting with them there." Nothing is sent to anyone.

  1. Open the event and click Plan touches. It shows while the event has target accounts and isn't over.
  2. Check how many accounts get one, and click Plan touches.
  3. Read the summary. If some accounts were skipped, open Why some were skipped.

Each touch is due 14 days before the event starts, or right away if that's already passed. It waits in Today for you to approve, and approving it marks it done. See Work the account plan.

  • One touch per account per event. Running Plan touches again adds none twice.
  • Accounts in Paused, Not a fit or Lost get no Event touch.
  • Your contact limits still apply. An account they block is skipped.
  • Once the event is over, it takes no new Event touches.

Speakers become signals

When a speaker's company is one of your accounts, Kenso adds an Event signal to that account, such as "Maya Chen (CRO) speaks at RevOps Summit". It's written when you add speakers and again when you plan touches, so accounts you add later get it too. See How signals and tiers work.

Send everyone else to a campaign

  1. Open the event and click Add to campaign.
  2. Pick the Campaign.
  3. Under Who to add, tick the roles to include.
  4. Leave Include people at target accounts off unless you want them too. They get an Event touch instead.
  5. Click Add to campaign.

Kenso queues an import and shows "Import queued" with the number of people. Your blocklist, contact limits and duplicate checks apply as for any import. People with neither an email nor a LinkedIn URL are left out.

Start a workflow on the event date

In Workflows, the trigger On an event date starts one run for each target account at an event, a set number of days before or after it starts or ends (up to 60 days either way). It runs at 09:00 in the event's timezone, or UTC if the event has none. Use it for a follow-up the day after, or a reminder a week before. See Automate your outbound with workflows.

Delete an event

Open the event's menu and click Delete, then Delete event. Its list of people goes with it. Accounts, people and touches stay.

What Ken can do here

Press ⌘J and ask Ken to add an event, read a speaker or exhibitor page into its list, find people at the event's companies, plan the Event touches, or add or dismiss a suggestion. Deleting an event or removing a person waits for your approval.

If something goes wrong

  • "Paste the event's link as a web address." Paste the full link, such as lu.ma/revops-mixer.
  • "Ken found no event details on this page. Fill in the event by hand." Type the details yourself.
  • "Give the event a name.", "Pick the start date." or "The end date is before the start." Fix that field, then click Create event.
  • "We could not read that page. Try a CSV export from the event app instead." Some sites block reading. Export a CSV and upload it.
  • "Over the size limit: 3.75 MB for a photo, 10 MB for a PDF or sheet." Split the file or crop the photo.
  • Plan touches doesn't show. The event has no target accounts on its list, or it's over.
  • "This event is over, so it takes no new Event touches." Use Add to campaign or a workflow for follow-up instead.
  • A person shows No account. Their company isn't one of your accounts, or Kenso couldn't find its domain. Add the account, and the row matches on its own.
