Calls is your call queue. Every call you need to make waits there with who to call, why, and a short brief from Ken. You call, pick how it went, and move on to the next one. Press G then L to open it, or click Calls in the sidebar under Inbox. Today also shows your next two calls due in its Calls group, with Open Calls to see the rest.
Work through the queue
The list on the left groups your open calls:
- Callable now: you can call them right now, overdue calls included.
- Later today: calling opens before the day ends.
- Overdue: due before today, and outside calling hours right now.
- Upcoming: due after today.
Each row says why the call is there, such as Account plan, Follow-up or Added by hand. Use Account and Campaign above the list to narrow it down.
- Pick a call. The panel on the right shows the person, their local time and Ken's brief.
- Click Call, or press C or Enter.
- When the call ends, pick the outcome, or press 1 to 7.
- Add Notes, a Next step and a Follow up on date if you need them.
- Click Save and next, or press ⌘Enter. Kenso logs the call on the person's timeline and opens the next one.
Press J and K to move through the list. Click Snooze or press H to push a call to the next calling window. To drop a call, click Skip and pick No phone number, Not relevant or Other reason.
What Call does
- With Aircall, Ringover, Dialpad or CloudTalk connected, Kenso has your dialer place the call. Dialpad and CloudTalk ring your own app first. A timer runs while you talk, with End call.
- With no dialer, or with JustCall or Any dialer, Kenso opens the number in your phone app and says "Calling from your phone app." Those two dialers log calls but can't place them from Kenso.
Before each call, Kenso checks three things:
- Calling hours. Kenso places calls only inside the Send window on Settings › Contact limits, in the person's time zone. Outside it, Call says when calling opens.
- Calls per person per day. Set it on the same page, from 1 to 3. Once someone hits it, the call shows Called enough today, and Call anyway still places it.
- A number they're fine with. Someone who asked not to be called, or has no number, can't be called. Hover Call to see why.
What each outcome does
| Outcome | Key | What Kenso does next |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | 1 | Closes the call. |
| Voicemail, No answer, Busy | 2 3 4 | Moves the call to the next weekday morning in their time zone. |
| Wrong number | 5 | Marks the number invalid, closes the call and starts looking for a new number (credits only if one is found). |
| Meeting booked | 6 | Moves the account to Meeting booked if it was at an earlier stage, lets your pipeline create or move a deal, and stops the campaign the call came from for that person. |
| Not interested | 7 | Stops the campaign the call came from for that person. |
A Follow up on date adds a Follow-up call to your queue for that day. If the person already has an open call, Kenso moves that one to the date instead.
A call your dialer logged without an outcome shows in Today as "How did your call with Dana go?". Pick the outcome there.
Read Ken's brief
Each call has a brief: the last touches, the last reply, signals, meetings and any open opportunity. When Ken writes the full brief, it adds Why now, an Angle, an Opener you can copy and Likely objections with answers.
- A brief marked short version is built from the facts only. Click Write full brief to have Ken write the rest.
- A brief marked Out of date needs a refresh. Click Rewrite brief.
Writing a brief uses credits.
Add calls to the queue
- In an account's plan. On the account's Activity, click Add step and pick Call. The call joins your queue when it's due. See Work the account plan.
- As a follow-up. Set Follow up on when you log a call.
- With Ken. Ask Ken to add a call for someone.
Find missing phone numbers
- Open People, tick the people you want to call, and click Find phones in the bar.
- Check the summary. People who already have a phone, or whose find is running, are skipped.
- Click Find with the number of phones. Kenso confirms with "Finding 3 phones", for example.
Each number Kenso finds costs credits. A person with no number found costs nothing. A find waits while you have no credits to pay for it, and stops after 14 days of waiting. See How credits work.
To find numbers on their own, click Add on People and pick Find phones with a workflow.
Connect your dialer
Open Settings › Calling (press G then ,, then click Calling). In the Dialer card, click Connect next to your dialer:
| Dialer | What you enter | Call from Kenso |
|---|---|---|
| Aircall | Sign in and approve Kenso's app, or an API ID and API token | Yes |
| Ringover | An API key, and a Webhook key if you have one. Then finish the step it shows in Ringover. | Yes |
| Dialpad | An API key | Yes, rings your Dialpad apps |
| CloudTalk | An API Access Key ID and API Access Key Secret | Yes, rings your CloudTalk app |
| JustCall | An API key and API secret | No. Logs calls with the recording and JustCall AI's summary. |
| Any dialer | Click Create webhook. Copy the URL, Key and Secret into your dialer. | No. Logs each call it sends. |
Once a dialer shows Connected:
- Turn Log calls to your CRM off if your dialer already logs calls there, or each call shows twice.
- Leave Import recordings and transcripts on to keep them with each call.
- In the users list, pick the Kenso member for each dialer user, then click Save users. Kenso suggests matches by email. Calls log on the member you pick, and Call only rings through the dialer for a linked member. Any dialer has no list: each call goes to the member whose email it sends.
You need permission to manage integrations. See Invite your team and set roles. Disconnect stops logging, and reps can't call through it from Kenso. Calls already logged stay.
Admins: see a teammate's calls
Click My calls above the list and pick a teammate. The header shows "Viewing Dana's calls".
What Ken can do here
Press ⌘J and ask Ken which calls are due, to write a brief, add, snooze or skip a call, log an outcome or find phones for people. Deleting a call or disconnecting a dialer waits for your approval.
If something goes wrong

- "The dialer couldn't start the call." Click Call from this device to use your phone app.
- "Kenso has no number to call for this person." Find their phone from People.
- "Outside their calling hours." Snooze the call, or widen the Send window on Settings › Contact limits.
- "Ken can't write briefs: the workspace's credit cap is reached." Add credits, or raise the cap.
- Needs reconnect on a dialer. Click Reconnect and enter new keys, as the card says.
- "No calls to make" Nothing is due. Add a Call step to an account's plan.
