A list is a set of people or companies you keep in Kenso and reuse. It remembers where its members came from, so you can refresh it, share it and add it to any campaign. Building a list is free.
Lists live in the Lists tab at the end of Search's tabs. Press G then E to open it from anywhere. My lists holds your workspace's lists, Shared with me the lists other workspaces shared with you (read-only), and Library Kenso's ready-made lists.
Make a list from Search
- Open Search and pick the Profiles tab.
- Set your filters, or tick the people you want.
- Click Save as list.
- Check the Name and pick Who can see it: Workspace (everyone in this workspace can see and use it) or Only me.
- Click Create list.
With people ticked, the list saves those people, up to 1,000 at a time. With nothing ticked, it saves your filters, and Refresh runs them again later. Only people lists come from Search, so Save as list is not on the Companies tab.
Make a list from a file or another source
- On the Lists page, click New list and type a Name.
- Drop a CSV on the dialog, or pick a tile under Or start from: Saved search, Campaign contacts (everyone in one of your campaigns), Another list (yours, shared with you or from the library) or Empty list.
- For a CSV, Kenso walks you through Upload, Columns, Check and Create. A people list needs an Email or LinkedIn URL column, or a full name with a Company domain. A companies list needs a Company domain or Company LinkedIn URL column.
- Set Holds to People or Companies. Kenso locks it when the source or the columns decide it.
- Optional: open More details to add a Description and ICP tags.
- Click Create list.
Kenso confirms with "List created. Kenso is adding the people now." Members come in the background. A large source takes a few minutes, and the list page updates on its own.
Limits
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Name | 200 characters |
| Description | 2,000 characters |
| ICP tags | 20 tags, 50 characters each |
| CSV file | a .csv, up to 100,000 rows and 400 MB |
| Sources on one list | 50 |
| People picked in Search | 1,000 at a time |
Kenso never stores personal CSV columns such as birth date, gender, age, personal email or salary. Uploaded emails start as unverified. A row that matches someone already on the list merges into them: people by LinkedIn URL, then email, then name and company domain; companies by domain, then LinkedIn page.
Work with a list
Open a list to see Sources, where its members came from, and a breakdown by email coverage, country, seniority, industry or headcount. Click a bar to filter the members below it.
- Add source, in the Sources card, pulls in more members.
- Refresh runs the list's Search sources again. It adds new matches and never removes a member.
- On the Lists page, right-click a list or use the three-dot button on its row: Open, Rename (F2), Edit details, Duplicate, Add source, Add to campaign, Share, Submit to library and Delete (⌫).
- Press / to search your lists and the people and companies on them.
Delete asks first, then the list and its members go away for everyone in your workspace. Campaigns that already imported them keep them. The toast offers Undo for about 5 seconds. After that it can't be undone.
Add a list to a campaign
- Open the list and click Add to campaign.
- Narrow it with Country, Seniority, Industry, Headcount or a title. Kenso shows how many members match.
- For a companies list, add up to 20 roles. Kenso finds people in those roles through Search, at up to 500 companies per import. With no roles, each company imports as one contact.
- Pick the campaign and click Import with the number of leads.
Using a list costs what any import costs: plan leads, emails Kenso finds and AI steps. Each lead counts toward your plan's lead allowance. On the Free plan the people import without cached emails, and Kenso's email finders run on your credits. You need the Import leads and accounts permission and edit access to Campaigns to see Add to campaign.
Use a list in a workflow
- Workflows › Templates has a Saved list template under Lead sources. It opens the same Add to campaign dialog, and each lead it adds starts every workflow that begins with New lead added.
- A workflow's Saved list source reads a companies list into Accounts once when you publish, or every hour, day or week. Each company with a website domain becomes an account. One without a domain is skipped. It reads your own workspace's companies lists, and an Only me list only if you published the workflow. See Automate your outbound with workflows.
Share a list with another workspace
- Open a list you own and click Share. If it's set to Only me, click Make visible to workspace first.
- If the list has CSV rows, tick "I have the right to share this data, including the rows uploaded from CSV."
- Type the person's work email and click Send invite.
Read-only is the only role. The person opens the link in the invite email and clicks Accept and open. If they're in several workspaces, they pick one under Add it to first. The list shows in their Shared with me tab. They can copy it with Copy to my lists and add its members to their campaigns, billed like their own data. They can't edit or refresh it. The invite works only for the email it was sent to.
To take access back, click Share, Remove on their row, then Remove access. They lose the list right away. Contacts they already added to campaigns stay. Sharing needs the Share for approval permission.
The library
Filter the Library tab by Category, Kind, Industry, Role, Country and Size. Click a card, or press Space on it, to preview it. Use Copy to my lists or Add to campaign. Library members never leave Kenso as a bulk export.
To offer your own list, pick Submit to library in its menu. Kenso reviews every list first. It shows In review, then In the library or Not published. Later edits don't reach the library copy: use Resubmit to library in the list's More actions menu.
What Ken can do here
Press ⌘J and ask Ken to show your lists and who is on them, or to create, rename, copy or refresh a list, add a source, share it or submit it to the library. Ken asks you to approve each change first, and deleting a list always waits for your approval. An AI tool you connect to Kenso can do the same. See Use Kenso from Claude or ChatGPT.
If something goes wrong
"Map an Email or LinkedIn URL column, or a name and a Company domain." Map one of those on Columns. For a companies list, map Company domain or Company LinkedIn URL.
"This file has ... rows. Upload up to 100,000 at a time." or "This file is over 400 MB. Split it and upload each part." Split the file and add each part as a source.
"List created. The source failed, so the list is empty." Open the list and use Add source again. Sources shows why it failed, such as "The saved search has no filters."
"Couldn't create the list. Try again." If it keeps happening, check with an admin that you have edit access to Search.
"Only you can see this list. Make it visible to your workspace first." Click Make visible to workspace in Share.
"You can't share lists in this workspace." You need the Share for approval permission.
"This invite was sent to another email address, or your role can't add lists to that workspace." Sign in with the address the invite went to.
"This invite link is not valid." or "This invite was revoked." Ask the owner for a new invite.
Add to campaign is greyed out. The list has no members yet. Add a source first.
