You can run Ken's Keep campaigns running template as a scheduled task in ChatGPT Work, with Ken added as a custom MCP plugin. For how the templates work and stay safe, see Run Ken's agent templates in your own AI tool.

Before you start

  • A ChatGPT plan that can add a custom MCP plugin. On Business, only an admin or owner can add one. On Enterprise, the person adding it needs the Create plugins with MCPs permission, which is off by default.
  • Ken as a custom plugin, not the Ken app from the ChatGPT directory. The directory app can't load Ken's skills, so it can't run a template.
  • Agent templates on for your workspace. If ChatGPT says Ken's agent tools are missing, they aren't on for your workspace yet.
  • An Admin or Editor role in the Ken workspace. The agent edits campaigns, and you approve its proposals.

What to know first

  • ChatGPT acts as you, with your role in Ken. It can do what you can do in Ken. The template tells it to change campaigns only through Ken's agent_team tools, and Ken decides what to apply and what to turn into a proposal.
  • Prefer an API key in a header where you can. For a scheduled run, a key in a request header is better than a sign-in, because a sign-in can expire and stop the task without warning. ChatGPT's custom plugins sign in and don't take a header, so check each run.
  • Never paste a Ken key or password into a chat.
  • Switch off Ken's other write tools if ChatGPT lists the plugin's tools one by one: every Ken tool whose name ends in _write, except agent_team_write. The template never calls them.
  • Credits. ChatGPT's thinking runs on your ChatGPT plan and costs no Ken credits. Ken actions cost what they cost in the app: a lead top-up pays for the emails Ken finds and the AI work that follows, the same as when you add the leads yourself. See How credits work.

Add Ken as a custom plugin

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins, then click +.
  2. Choose a custom MCP server and name it Ken.
  3. Paste https://mcp.ken.so/mcp as the server URL and choose OAuth. If you belong to several Ken workspaces, add the workspace, such as https://mcp.ken.so/mcp?workspace=42, and add Ken once per workspace.
  4. Sign in to Ken in the window that opens and select Allow access.

On Business and Enterprise, an admin publishes the plugin and members then connect it. ChatGPT keeps the plugin's list of tools from when it was approved, so an admin republishes it when Ken adds tools.

Test it once in a chat

  1. Open a new chat in ChatGPT Work and turn on the Ken plugin.
  2. Paste the starter prompt from Agent templates reference.
  3. Check that ChatGPT loads the skill, reads what changed in Ken, and calls only load_skill, Ken's read tools (names ending in _read) and agent_team_write. If it calls anything else that changes a campaign, stop the chat.

Schedule it

  1. Connect and authorize the Ken plugin first. A scheduled task uses only plugins that are already connected.
  2. In ChatGPT Work on the web or in the desktop app, ask ChatGPT to schedule your starter prompt, for example "Schedule this every Monday at 07:00 Europe/Berlin."
  3. Check the schedule and the time zone ChatGPT confirms.
  4. Each run opens a new chat with its result.

ChatGPT Dots

Dots are OpenAI's always-on agents, announced on Sep 29, 2026, one per person. They are on Pro and Business Premium, and on Enterprise once an admin turns them on. They aren't available in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.

OpenAI doesn't say yet whether a dot can use a custom MCP plugin such as Ken. To try it:

  1. Add Ken as a custom plugin, as above.
  2. Open your dot's profile, then Customize, then Plugins, and turn on Ken.
  3. Ask the dot: "Load Ken's skill keep-campaigns-running and tell me its first step." If it can't, use a scheduled task in ChatGPT Work instead.
  4. Under Settings, then Personalization, then Custom rules, let Ken's agent_team calls run without asking. Ken decides what waits for you, and a run that waits on the dot stalls.
  5. Paste the starter prompt and ask the dot to save it as a schedule. Check it under Scheduled.

To stop it, disable or delete the schedule under Scheduled. Pausing the dot doesn't cancel scheduled runs.

Check the first run

  1. Open the run's chat and read it. It lists what Ken applied, with each undo deadline, and what it proposed.
  2. Open Today in Ken and approve or skip each proposal.
  3. Ask ChatGPT: "What changed in Ken this week?" It reads Ken's change log, where each change names who made it.

To undo a change, ask ChatGPT to undo it before its deadline.

Good to know

  • A finished run doesn't mean the work arrived. Check Ken.
  • A sign-in can expire. The task then stops reaching Ken until you open the plugin and sign in again. Check the runs, not just the schedule.
